Happy New Year!

happy new year, New Year, New Year's Eve, 2014, happiness, joy, resolutions, wishes, goals, love, thanks2013 has been an incredible year, lots of ups and downs and ins and outs, but overall it definitely finished on the plus side of things!

I want to thank my readers for all the support that you’ve given me and my books.  All of the wonderful reviews and messages, they mean the world to me.

To my friends, you all have been great, supportive, encouraging and even slave drivers at times–cracking that whip when it needed to be done.

My family is the best, my children – Jackie, Andy and Sarah – I don’t know how I’d get through life without you.  You make me laugh and cry and fill my days with joy.  I’m so proud of the three of you and my two son-in-laws, John and Ian.  We have a truly wonderful family.

Special thanks go out to Shira and Tom.  Without the two of you I’d never have gotten through the low points of this year. I love you both so very much.

I wish you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year. May it be filled with all the joy and love you can imagine.  I’m looking forward to all the new adventures coming our way and I can’t wait to share them all with you.   Goodbye 2013 and Welcome 2014 – it’s going to be a blast! ♥ ♥ ♥

It’s a Puppy!!!

When I lost my twelve year old teacup poodle in April and two months later my sixteen year old cat, I wasn’t sure I wanted to bring any more fur babies in to the family.  We still have one large mutt named Puppy and two cats, Pumpkin and Sylvester.  The house has plenty of furry babies already.  But none of them were “my” snuggle partners.

lulu, yorki-poo, poodle, yorkshire terrier, baby, puppy, spunky, feisty, dog, lynne st. jamesSo of course the inevitable happened. Instead of finishing up my Christmas shopping this weekend I fell in love with a little Yorki-Poo puppy, who has since been named Lulu.  She totally fits her name–half Yorkshire Terrier and half Poodle–I swear she is made out of springs.

lulu, poodle, yorkshire terrier, yorki-poo, puppy, dog, baby, fur babies, adorable, spunky, lynne st. jamesThe nine pound ball of silky cuteness walked in the front door and instantly won everyone over.  No adjustment period needed.  Of course now we have the fun of housebreaking, but she’s smart and I’m hoping she’ll learn quickly.

I look forward to sharing many more Lulu adventures in the future, because I just know there will be many.  What furry loves do you have?  ♥ ♥ ♥

The NaNo Has Me!

I know it seems like I have deserted this blog, but truly I haven’t. Life has had me in its clutches and hasn’t wanted to let go. First it was my daughter’s wedding, which was amazing, fun, beautiful, beautiful and just the best Halloween party ever! No sooner did I get back home when the calendar turned to November.  We all know what that means, right?

coffee, starbucks, PSL, writing, NaNoWriMo, NaNo, lynne st. james, twice bitten and bewitchedNaNoWriMo. What can I say that you probably haven’t heard already. One month, 50K words and lots of coffee. Did I say lots of coffee? Umm yup…and we all know what my favorite drink is – coffee!

keyboard, laptop, worn out, writing, NaNo, NaNoWriMo, lynne st. james, twice bitten and bewitchedI’m immersed in NaNo. We have a love-hate relationship really, and it has been going on since 2008, when I first found out it existed. Wow what a trip…literally! How long does it take the average author to get from 0 to 50K? It’s debatable of course…and as you can see I’ve even worn some of the letters off of my keyboard while trying!

I do have several author friends who manage to have a “NaNo” month every month and I have nothing but jealousy errr awe for them. Between my day job and some health issues I would be happy to write a book every three months really. But what would November be without the torture errr exhilaration of NaNo participation?

Last year I won, and I repeated it again in April at Camp NaNoWriMo. Will I make it this month? Time will tell. I’ll update you as the month continues. For now I will admit I am no where near where I should be on day twelve but it’s early and there is plenty of time to catch up, write…errr right!?
