My Blog Has Moved…

Just a quick post to let you all know that my blog has moved along with my website and can be viewed at:  http://lynnestjames.com.  All the fun will continue at the new location and the Monday Quotes, Wednesday Words and Friday Bucket List posts will all be there and continue on.

One important note is that if you’re an email subscriber (follower) to my blog you’ll still get the same notifications as before.  However, if you’re a WordPress.com follower you will only see the new posts in the Reader and not receive the email updates unless you go over to the new site and subscribe to my posts there.  I’m sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause, but in the long run it will be brilliant!

I hope this Monday brings you lots of smiles.  As I was searching for this week’s Monday Quote I wanted something a little different, and then I came across this quote by Phyllis Diller.  She was a very funny woman, just thinking about her brought a smile to my lips, and so we have this week’s quote.  I hope you all have lots of smiles in your life today and for the whole week.  It costs nothing, but spreads joy wherever it goes.

Spring has sprung finally and with it comes the possibilities of new beginnings and new opportunities.  Will you embrace them or will fear steal your courage?  I learned a while ago that I can’t let fear,  doubts, lack of self-confidence, which really are all the same things, control my life.  To give fear a foothold, no matter how small, is to lose your dreams, hopes, desires.  At the risk of sounding like a bad Direct TV commercial, don’t let fear rule your life.  Don’t end up in a roadside ditch!  Get out there and live.

Monday Quote – March 24, 2014

There have been a lot of changes in my life lately–some public and some private.  Because of that, when I saw this quote it really hit home.  My life has changed so much in the last year because of a loving heart, and not just in the obvious ways.  But by opening my heart to all of the possibilities and allowing them into my life it has become enriched by friends, family,  my writing and of course by love.  I’ve realized a few dreams and won some battles, and I’m looking forward to so much more.  If knowledge is power than we can never have enough, can we?

Monday Quotes – March 17, 2014

Happy St. Patrick’s Day and may the Luck O’ the Irish be with you.  I probably should have picked a quote from an Irish poet today but this one by Emerson on life hit home.  I know I’ve experimented plenty in my life and even started over a few times.  Each time I learned from the time before – I guess you can’t ask for more than that.   I believe that there is always the possibility of more – that until we’re no longer living there are still chances to grow and accomplish things and live out our dreams.  How about you?  How do you look at your life? Do you see all the options which are available or do you feel you’ve done all you can?

When I was searching for this week’s quote I was surprised to come across this one by Albert Einstein.  With all I’ve read and learned he still manages to surprise me.  He certainly put his imagination to the test over his lifetime.  I love his take on this – that our imagination is a window into what’s coming our way.  Let’s make our imaginations great!

Monday Quotes – February 24, 2014

Wow, it’s the last Monday in February already.  The beautiful sunshine this morning reminded me of the day I took this picture near Chattanooga, Tennessee.   It was a lovely day, the view was breathtaking and peaceful, and I think it pairs well with today’s quote.  Kindness is never too much of an effort and like Karma it comes back to you in spades.  I hope you all have a wonderful week filled with peace, kindness and beauty.

I love this quote from Walt Disney for this week’s Monday Quotes.  I took this picture in October while driving through the mountains outside of Chatanooga, Tennessee.  It was a dreary day, but I thought this image was haunting and beautiful and seemed to have a dreamy quality that fit well with today’s quote.  I hope this is the start of a wonderful week for everyone and I wish you all the courage to pursue your dreams!
